As a Beauty advisor, your focus is to support the Beauty needs of our customers to drive sales. Your role is to provide an elevated and seamless customer experience through your expert skills in beauty knowledge, virtual selling, service & recovery. Your goal is to exceed performance metrics. You are focused on customer acquisition and building strong client relationships. You embrace innovation and are comfortable communicating with customers via phone, virtual 1:1 appointment, virtual events and leverage new selling ideas and applications. Provide customer consultation, make-up and product application following all current hygiene standards. Perform other duties as assigned.

Essential Functions:

  • Drive and exceed sales goals by providing a personalized beauty experience based on individual customer needs.
  • Provide a high level of service based on customer preference by leveraging product knowledge and providing expert advice to each customer.

  • Provide outstanding service – whether that be in person, virtually or on the phone.

  • Participate in pre-selling and sales driving events.
  • Remain up to date with all training through Beauty Playground. Attend Vendor trainings and virtual trainings as assigned.
  • Self-motivated to stay current on brand related product knowledge and beauty trends.
  • Partner with Counter Manager and CSX Manager to identify business driving opportunities.
  • Meet regularly with your supervisor to discuss your performance, goals and actions.
  • Ensure timely processing of new receipts, damages, testers, and return to vendors (RTVs).
  • Upkeep a clean, safe and inviting environment in alignment with our company provided standards & guidelines.
  • Regular, dependable attendance & punctuality.

Qualifications and Competencies:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Previous cosmetic or fragrance sales experience a plus
  • Strong interpersonal skills with proven ability to communicate and share information with diverse groups of customers and peers.
  • Resourceful and able to adapt quickly to changing priorities
  • Resourceful self-starter, works well independently as well as part of a team, and able to adapt quickly to changing priorities
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule with retail hours, including day, evening, weekends, and/or holidays

As a Selling Colleague, you will be an integral part of bringing the magic of Macy’s to life. Selling Colleagues provide outstanding customer service, meet hourly sales and Loyalty goals on a personal and departmental basis, and demonstrate superior product knowledge to customers. Selling Colleagues create a shopping experience that will make the customer feel welcome and comfortable including the upkeep of merchandise within the store and maintaining the stockroom. The Selling Colleague is also responsible for fulfillment and performing other duties as necessary.

Macy’s uses a scheduling plan that allows our colleagues to participate in the creation of their work schedules by managing availability and identifying preferences. Additionally, during key events and peak selling times, Macy’s may offer additional shifts to our colleagues, which they may pick up using the self-scheduling tool.

Essential Functions:

  • Provide an exceptional customer experience by ensuring the customer is always the priority.
  • Assist customers in all aspects of total store fulfillment and have the ability to satisfy the needs of our digital and physical customers by making appropriate partnerships when necessary.
  • Determine customer needs based on personal features and other customer preference related factors; suggest additional merchandise to compliment customer selection.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of store products and services to build sales and minimize returns, including Macy’s Loyalty Programs.
  • Be proficient in POS systems including but not limited to Search and Send and My Client.
  • Proactively assist customers who are using devices to shop and compare, whether Macy’s devices or their own.
  • Develop new business and expand client base through networking, suggestive selling and on the floor presence.
  • Maintain department recovery standards; including fitting room go backs to standard, if applicable.
  • Retrieve additional merchandise for customers as requested.

Essential Functions:

  • Unpack merchandise from vendor boxes and remove merchandise from plastic bags and packaging
  • Hang or fold merchandise and place on racks to be taken to the selling floor
  • Complete all processing and receiving activities in accordance with productivity standards timelines
  • During peak times, complete fulfillment orders including picking merchandise, packing & shipping orders, and making in store pickup orders ready for customers
  • Learn and apply packing policies & techniques to ensure every customer receives his/her package in good condition
  • Process shippable returns and abandoned in store pickup order
  • During peak times, conduct customer pick-up including retrieving the orders from our back-of-house storage and delivering them curbside to the customer
  • Monitor alerts to ensure Ready On Time completion of Buy Online Pickup In-Store (BOPS) orders.
  • Pick Not Found merchandise to improve fill rate as business needs require
  • Expedite aged orders to improve the Speed-to Ship to our customers. Provide an exceptional customer experience by ensuring the customer is always the priority
  • Participate in stockroom maintenance, organization, and housekeeping
